Latest news and contract awards for 3B Survey….

  • May 2021 – We are pleased to announce the opening of our new office in Darwin, NT. This is in line with our continuing contracts in the NT, particularly with Inpex, and our ongoing support for local communities. Our vision is to have this office permanently manned, using local labour, as a base for future development in the NT, northern WA and Queensland.

  • July 2019 – 3B are pleased to announce that we have been awarded the contract for all survey related work on the Sphinx pipeline project by Noble Energy. This project involves the supply of gas to Egypt from the Ashkelon processing facility in Israel, utilising existing pipeline that was originally used to supply gas from Egypt to Israel. The scope of work for 3B will involve the survey of existing plant at Ashkelon which will be modified to incorporate the new design, and also offshore surveys on the Tamar platform which will supply the gas. This project will run alongside our other Noble projects currently underway on Laviathan and Tamar.

  • Nov 2018 – This month sees the 10 year anniversary of 3B Survey in Australia. We are really proud to have reached this milestone and would like to thank all our dedicated staff for their hard work and loyalty during this period. It is only through your teamwork, diligence and drive for excellence that enable 3B to flourish in this market. Our Christmas party this year will be a special celebration, in recognition of all the hard work and sacrifices made by all team members. Let’s hope for another 10 years of growth and opportunity. Well done, and thank you to all involved.

  • Dec 2017 – 3B awarded the contract to provide all Dimensional verification on the fabrication of the Leviathan offshore platform, to be built at the Kiewit Offshore facility in Texas, USA. Upon completion of the project, we will also be involved in the final hook up and commissioning of the platform and continue to provide survey data for ongoing upgrades and maintenance.

  • Aug 2017 – We have been awarded the contract for the Dimensional Control and Laser Scanning on the Tamar Emissions Project in Israel through Noble Energy. This involves a full as-built scan and survey of the existing sub-cellar deck offshore and the survey of all new valves, spools, equipment packages and structural supports both offshore and at fabrication sites across the southern US. These upgrades to the platform will be ongoing, with more scanning data required around the platform and the flare, providing the client with ‘as-built’ model data to assist the design team in the planning of new pipe routes and equipment installation. Clash checking and isometric ‘red lining’ of all piping routes will be carried out to ensure first time fit.

  • Jan 2017 – 3B win the contract to provide all survey requirements for the ongoing maintenance and modifications with WOOD on a number of offshore platforms in Western Australia. This includes Laser Scanning and Dimensional Control for structural upgrades, piping replacement, piping design and clash-checking and as-built modelling.

  • Dec 2016 – 3B wins the contract with McDermott / L&T to provide Dimensional Control services on the Vashishta & S1 Sub-Sea project based in India. The scope of work includes the survey on a series of mud-mats, pipeline end terminations (PLETs) and in-line tee structures (ILT), a pipeline end manifold structure (PLEM), and rigid jumper spools. We will have a team of 3 based at L&T facility, north of Chennai, for approximately 14 months.

  • Oct 2013 – 3B are delighted to announce that we have been awarded the contract to supply all Dimensional Control services for Noble Energy on the Ashdod Onshore Compression project, based in Israel. 3B will provide all survey requirements from site control network to flange tie-in verification, setting out of all new supports and equipment bases, marking out pipe racks, verifying equipment as-built dimensions and issuing all piping isometrics and as-built modelling through to final completion. The contract is expected to run for 10 months.

  • Nov 2012 – 3B have been awarded the Dimensional Control contract for Brockman Engineering on the Caltex Fuel Depot upgrades in Williamstown, Victoria. Work will involve survey of all existing infrastructure in order to help design new piping routes for diesel, ULP and jet fuel around the facility, from the storage tanks to the loading bays. We will supply all red-lined piping isometrics and set out multiple supports across the site and then provide a full as built model upon completion. Expected duration is 11 months.

  • Nov 2011 – 3B awarded the contract to provide surveying services with Origin Energy on the Yolla Platform Mid-Life Enhancement project. This will involve various trips offshore to perform as-built surveys, flange tie-ins, setting out of equipment and supports and setting up a full platform control network for all future work. We will also travel to New Zealand and Thailand to complete as-built surveys on the new accommodation block, helideck and compressor packages so we can mark out the correct interface locations on the platform. Expected duration is 8 months.
